GAME 1 | Lindenwood 4, Tennessee Tech 2
ST. CHARLES, Mo –The Lindenwood Lions took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 4-2 win against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles on Saturday.
Senior Amanda Weyh (4-6) started in the circle and picked up the win for Lindenwood (MO) (7-17, 1-5). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on five hits, allowing three walks and striking out three.
Offensively, the Lions were paced by junior Chloe Honchar, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a double, a walk and two RBI. Freshman Dallis Darnell put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 3-for-3. Junior Whitney Kinser also contributed for Lindenwood, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning. Lindenwood (MO) put together a three-run frame, culminating in a run-scoring single from Kinser.
The Lions then held the Golden Eagles scoreless before expanding their lead in the third inning. Lindenwood pushed across a run on Honchar’s one-out RBI double, which brought the score to 4-0 in favor of the Lions. Tennessee Tech put two runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Lindenwood (MO) still held on for the 4-2 win.

ST. CHARLES, Mo –The Lindenwood Lions rallied to score two in the seventh inning and walked it off on sophomore Irelynn West’s two-run double to pick up the 3-2 win over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles Saturday.
Freshman Avery Wapp (1-4) started in the circle and picked up the win for Lindenwood (8-17, 0-5). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on six hits, allowing one walk and striking out four.
At the plate, the Lions were paced by West, who went 1-for-4 on the day with a double and two RBI. Sophomore Mya Bethany furnished a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-4 with a double. Freshman Tori Hatton also chipped in for Lindenwood, putting together zero hits in zero trips to the plate while adding three walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions were trailing 1-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Lindenwood got an RBI single from sophomore Lauren Pelton, scoring Bethany from second base.
Tennessee Tech then broke the tied and took a 2-1 lead before Lindenwood scored two runs in the bottom half of the seventh to grab the win, walking it off on West’s two-run double.
